I think that people sometimes dislike lawyers because the nature of legal actions is they are adversarial ie one side is pitted against another and only one side can win. If you are on the losing side, you may feel disgruntled that your lawyer was unsuccessful. Also, people don’t always like being told that they don’t really have a case – or a case that is likely to be successful in court.
